Obituary of Robert S. DiStassio

Robert S. DiStassio, age 72, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. Born in Bridgeport on July 20, 1949 he was a son of the late John and Susan (Paniccia) DiStassio.

Robert had attended Sacred Heart University and later was employed by Vitec Videocom of Shelton as a receiving clerk before his retirement with over 19 years of dedicated service. He was an avid sports fan and also enjoyed coaching girls’ softball at a time. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving brother, John DiStassio and his wife Margaret of Trumbull, his niece and nephew, Kristen Bollini and her husband Joe and Brian DiStassio and his wife Dianne, as well as many close friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. There will be no calling hours due to concerns associated with the spread of COVID.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492.
