Obituary of Antoinette M. Caselli
Antoinette M. Cordone Caselli of Trumbull, Connecticut, a cheerful centenarian as of 2019, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Ludlowe Health and Rehabilitation Center of Fairfield. She was the beloved wife of the late Cosimo J. Caselli. Born in Bridgeport on September 4, 1919 she was a daughter of the late Luigi and Laura Carfagna Cordone. “Toni” as her family and friends knew her led a remarkably gifted life as a dedicated seamstress in her youth, real estate saleswoman, accountant, and a still life artist of nature and portraits. An avid gardener too, as many friends will remember her for her glorious pink flocks and her favorite lily of the valley. A woman of great faith, Antoinette was a longtime parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull, where she made many lasting friendships. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, best friend to many, and known as “Aunt Toni” to all her nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her loving daughters, Lois Bailey of Delray Beach, Florida, and Paula Cappa of Pound Ridge, New York. Her son-in-law Ronald Cappa remembers her as fun-loving and “a good listener.” Antoinette loved her role as “Nana” to her grandchildren, Christa Ross Krasniewicz and partner Cliff Cooper and his son Brandon, Xander Bailey and partner Clarissa Park, Gina Casey and Todd Casey, Jon-Paul Cappa and his wife Emily Zhang. And of course, she adored her great-grandchildren, Jake Krasniewicz, Katherine Mae Krasniewicz, Charlie Zhang Cappa, and Scarlet Sienna Casey. In addition to her beloved husband Cosimo, she was predeceased by her daughter, Joan “Jacey” Ross, and her five sisters, Jenny Troverelli, Marion Sherwood, Loretta Verderosa, Lucille Pacific, and Rose Bargas.
Due to the concerns facing everyone at this unprecedented time about social gatherings, funeral services and interment were held privately. A memorial service will be held at a later date when we can gather together and celebrate Antoinette’s life.
