Obituary of Richard M. Meldon

Resident of Trumbull Richard M. Meldon, age 59, of Trumbull, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 8, 2012 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Born in Bridgeport, on July 25, 1953, he was the beloved son of Margaret Scinto Meldon of Trumbull and the late Albert H. Meldon. A U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era, Richard was formerly employed by the Mohegan Sun Casino. He had earned his Bachelors Degree in Social Work from the Western Connecticut State University. Richard had a huge heart and his willingness to help anyone in a time of need will be greatly missed by all that knew him. In addition to his mother, survivors include his daughter, Nicole Meldon of Meriden, his brother and sisters, Leonard Meldon and his wife Gail of Brookfield, Sylvia Gallucci of New Haven, Debra Bike and her husband, Edward Jr. of Stratford, and Carol Straubinger of CA. He is also survived by 17 nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
