Obituary of Arlene C. Longwell
Resident of Trumbull
Arlene C. Goetz (Bubbles) Longwell, age 73, of Trumbull, passed on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Bridgeport Hospital. Arlene was born September 23, 1934 in Stamford. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Louise Goetz. She is predeceased by her brother Fred W. (Buster) Goetz Jr. and by her sister Louise (Buni) Haggerty. Arlene graduated from Stamford High School in 1952. She received a BS degree in Biology with an emphasis on zoology and genetics from Michigan State University. She always had a great passion for animals especially for horses and dogs. She, of course, was also a big Michigan State fan. After college she received her teaching certificate and taught for one year in Stamford. After starting a family she taught for six years as a substitute teacher. At the same time she began her 40 year career in teaching dog obedience classes in the area. She was also a breeder of Doberman Pinschers and had been a member of both Ox Ridge and Trap Falls Kennel Clubs. Arlene always enjoyed helping others with their canine needs and spent countless hours working with their dogs and offering advice. She will be missed by many people. Arlene is survived by her two sons and their families, Mark Longwell, his wife Catherine and grandchildren Amy, Sam and Grace of Acton, MA and Glenn Longwell, his wife Lisa and grandchildren Sarah and Caitlyn of Trumbull, CT. Friends may call on Monday, July 7, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
