Obituary of Ronald J. Cioppa
Ronald J. Cioppa, age 92 of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2024 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on November 1, 1932, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Dieli Cioppa. A graduate of Bassick High School, Ron was a longtime member of the CT Carpenter's Union, and operated AA Construction and chief engineer for the Stratford Motor Inn for many years.
A U.S. Army veteran, he proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Post 10059 in Trumbull, the Korean War Veteran's Association and the NRA. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time in Brandon, VT.
But above all, he was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his three loving children, Ronald M. Cioppa, Lynne T. Grillo and her husband Michael, and Robert J. Cioppa, three cherished grandchildren, Emily, Niki and Ruby Cioppa and three great grandchildren, Jayce and Harper Wilcox and Gianna Cioppa as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by James and Marge Dieli, Roberta Cioppa and by his grandson, Paul Grillo.
Private family burial took place in St. Michael's Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date in St. Theresa's Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. There will be no calling hours.
