Dearest Rita, You and your family are in my prayers constantly as you walk through this loss. I have such fond memories of listening to you share the story of you and your family at CHS. In many ways, I know your mom was as much a part of CHS as you, Brian, and your children are. I know your faith in the Lord will see you through the tears, grief, and loss. I am so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Khona was the sweetest woman. I met her as a teenager because Rita and I became close friends. She was a lovely host always welcoming me to her house. I have enjoyed all our conversations through the years. She did my taxes for years and wouldn’t think of having me repay her in any way. She did it out of her love for my family. She was Nonni to my kids. She loved her grandchildren and I enjoyed seeing the joy in her eyes at the many concerts performances, and events she went to. She was their biggest cheerleader. Dearest Rita and family, every encounter I had with Hemlata over the years was one of joy and genuine warmth. She was a most charming, delightful person. I remember her saying once when you and Gina were kids in high-school " If I give Rita $20, she doesn't give me back any change ." We laughed about it. I loved this dear woman who always had a welcoming heart to share . love , Mrs.D .
