Obituary of Joanne F. Zavodjancik
Joanne F. (Baldino) Zavodjancik, age 66, of Bridgeport, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at St. Vincent's Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of James E. Zavodjancik, Sr. Born in Bridgeport on May 31, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mafalda (Manente) Baldino, Sr.
Joanne was dedicated to the love and care of her family, always putting their needs before her own. She loved when the family was together and especially looked forward to the regular Sunday family dinners. Throughout the rest of the week she would showcase her love for cooking and baking for everyone to enjoy. She was an avid gardener and meticulous in planting spring flowers, which flourished in her yard every year. Nightly visits with her son James, with whom she would watch the news or play games on her phone, will now become a treasured memory. Joanne was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend of many. Her favorite title was "Gigi," enthusiastically called and shouted to her by her grandsons, who were the light of her life and her peace in times of turmoil. There was nothing she would not do for them, no task too big or too small, and no request that ever went unanswered. Similar to an additional parent, she spent nearly every possible day with them. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She left this world with love in her heart for everyone whom she loved and each of those individuals will reap the benefit of having known her.
In addition to her beloved husband, James, of nearly 47 years, survivors include her loving son, James E. Zavodjancik, Jr. (Ali) of Trumbull, two cherished and adored grandsons, James and Jacob Kozlowski, a brother, Alfred Baldino Jr. and his wife Barbara of Stratford, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving daughter, Jessica M. Kozlowski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Andrew's Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport.
