Obituary of Douglas B. Kinsman Sr.

Douglas B. Kinsman, Sr., age 68, of Trumbull passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at his home. He was the beloved husband of 45 years to the late Debra Ann (Miakos) Kinsman. Born in Bridgeport on January 7, 1956 he was a son of the late Everett and Marion (Lindholm) Kinsman.

Mr. Kinsman earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering before establishing a long career at Sikorsky Aircraft. Douglas was an avid golfer, a huge fan of the New England Patriots and was quite the gifted woodworker and talented engineer. He was actively involved in his children's athletic events and was proud to have been named the Stratford Little League Coach of the Year three years running. He had a caring and affectionate side and his dancing ability allowed him to "cut a rug" on many special occasions. Doug was dedicated to the care of his wife when she became ill and his greatest enjoyment was found in the time he spent surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his loving children, Nichole Kinsman, Douglas Kinsman Jr. and his wife Alicia and Daniel Kinsman and his wife Dale, his cherished grandchildren, Dougie III, Manny, Vida, Patrick, Rory and Lena, his brothers and sisters, William Kinsman and his wife Regina, Leslie Farrell and her husband Richard, Susan Kinsman and her husband Alan and Kenneth Kinsman and his wife Michelle, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends may greet the family on Monday, July 29, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. A prayer service will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bridgeport Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 9057, Bridgeport, CT 06601-9057 or at www.bridgeportrescuemission.org
