Obituary of Joseph J. Milone

Joseph J. Milone (Uncle Joe) died on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, peacefully at home in Fairfield, CT. Born in the Bronx, the son of the late Leoluca and Mariana (Gallina) Milone. Joe was an avid fan of the Yankees, New York City, and an alumnus of Manhattan College. He was pre-deceased by his wife and best friend, Sandra, (née-Attianese) who he loved and adored up until the moment of his demise and forever in eternity, as well as his loving brother Anthony and his wife Lilia, and his nephew Steven. He is survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roger and Joyce Attianese, Joe and Alicia DeSabia, and Linda Attianese. Joe had no children, but he loved his nephews and nieces as they were his own, if not more so. They survive him: Jimmie, Laura, Michelle, Colleen, Dennis, Joey, Danny, and Chrissy and many Grand-nephews and nieces. He treasured the title "Uncle Joe" more than all else.

Joe strove for his life to follow the precepts of his favorite prayer of St. Francis, "Lord make me an instrument of your peace" (read it all and see). If you knew Joe…HE loved you and would most often not be fearful of telling you and yet other times keep it in his heart. On the occasion of the baptism of one of his grandnephews he once wrote to the infant, "Hi Anthony, some present I know, Uncle Joe's old Yankee hat. When you grow up and wear it, remember you are a champion, but most of all remember that no matter how far away it may be your Uncle Joe loves you very much." Today, he may be far away but the thought and love is still there for all.
