Obituary of Eva Cajigas

Eva (Vega) Cajigas, age 81, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Adalberto Cajigas, who passed in November of 2005. Born in Camuy, Puerto Rico on October 4, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Rufino and Consuelo (Cordero) Vega.

She worked at Carnival Toy in Bridgeport for many years before retiring to her greatest joy of helping raise her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving children, Daniel Cajigas and his wife Maria of Shelton, Edgar Cajigas and his partner Alma of FL and Eva Garcia and her husband Hector of Bridgeport; her cherished grandchildren, Lissette, Steven, Danielle and James Cajigas, Jorge Rivera, Jonathan and Joshua Garcia, her adored great grandchildren, Ahmad, Antonio, Amir, and Anaya Pasha, Skylar Rivera, and Evelyn Cajigas. Also left to cherish her memory is her beloved canine companion and best friend Jazzy, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband Adalberto, she was also predeceased by her grandson, Joseph Cajigas, brother William Vega and sister Erynixa Jiménez.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport. Entombment will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
