Obituary of Amedeo Gallucci
Amedeo Gallucci, age 93, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Faeto, Italy on May 20, 1930, he was a son of the late Adelio and Angela (Franza) Gallucci.
Amedeo’s strong work ethic suited him well in the construction industry, which he really enjoyed. His hard work was always recognized and he established many lasting friendships through the years. He enjoyed Italian card games, wine making and also loved gardening. He was meticulous in tending to and cultivating his precious tomatoes. Amedeo enjoyed jarring his tomato sauce, creating his famous "winter salad", and was always happy to share the fruits of his labor with family and friends alike. He also was an avid fan of the N.Y. Jets, Giants, and Rangers; he religiously would review the next day box scores of all the local sports teams in the newspaper in case he missed any of the sports action.
His greatest enjoyment however was found in the time he spent surrounded by his family. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his beloved wife Nancy of 64 years, other survivors include his devoted children, Adelio Gallucci and his wife Cindy of Berlin, Louis Gallucci of Bridgeport and Angela Vincenzi and her husband Perry of Shelton; his cherished grandchildren, Christina, Lauren, Michael Gallucci; Giancarlo and Perry Vincenzi, and Nicole Gallucci; his sister-in-law, Maria Gallucci of Newtown as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Albert Gallucci.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margaret Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport.
