Obituary of Rose M. Renzulli
Former Trumbull resident Rose (Melchionda) Renzulli passed into God's hands on Friday, December 8, 2023. Mrs. Renzulli immigrated to the USA in 1936 and settled in the Trumbull area with her much-beloved parents and sister Mickey. She was fiercely proud of her Italian heritage and equally as proud of being American.
Rose married her adoring husband Michael in 1951. Over the ensuing fifty-five years, the two formed a family and instilled within their children and grandchildren an unwavering respect for God, family, and tradition, which has become the cornerstone of their legacy.
Rose was employed first by the Lycoming Corporation, and later by City Trust as a banker for many years during which time she established long-lasting friendships with coworkers and customers alike. She was known for her welcoming nature and generosity, not only to her family and friends, but to those in need. Rose was a passionate sponsor of charities such as the St. Jude Hospital for Children, Shriners Hospitals for Children, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, and others. She happily volunteered her time locally at St. Joseph's Manor and the soup kitchen at Merton House alongside her much-loved husband Michael, sister Mickey, and brother-in-law Jack, and then individually at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and Martin Memorial Hospital during her years in Florida.
Mrs. Renzulli is survived by her daughter Darlene, son Carmine and daughter-in-law Brenda, son Michael and daughter-in-law Irene, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, whom she (reciprocally) cherished.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull, for a Mass of Christian Burial.
