Obituary of Pancrazio A. Castorina

Pancrazio A. “Ned” Castorina, age 87, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Friday, June 9, 2023 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Ciambriello) Castorina. Born in Giardini-Naxos, Sicily on February 3, 1936, he was the son of the late Antonio Pancrazio and Maria (Caminiti) Castorina. Mr. Castorina had been employed by Dupont Biomedical Company of Newtown as a Group Leader before his retirement with over 30 years of dedicated service. Ned was meticulous in tending to his garden and generous with sharing the bountiful fruits of his labor with friends and family. He was an avid soccer fan and also enjoyed making wine, however, his greatest enjoyment was found in the time he spent surrounded by his family, especially Sunday dinners that were a highlight of every week. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife Mary of 66 years, other survivors include his loving sons, Anthony Castorina and his wife Catherine of Huntington, Frank Castorina and his wife Maria of Monroe and Ned Castorina of Ansonia, his cherished grandchildren, Anthony Castorina Jr., Gabriella Castorina, Frank Castorina Jr., and Daniel Castorina, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Entombment will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
