Obituary of Josephine K. Hahn

Josephine Hahn,103, died peacefully in her sleep Monday May 22, 2023. She was a kind and loving mother and grandmother who loved a glass of good red wine. She was born March 12, 1920 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to the late Louise (Sajn) and Anton Vatovec. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 47 years William and her siblings, Otto (Helen) Vatovec, Ann Raynor (Charlie), Louise Stefani (Charlie), and Stephanie Hahn (Gustave) and niece Lynn Gates.

Josie worked at The John S. Swift Printing Company in New York City during the war before becoming a wife and mother. She lived many happy years in Ridgewood, N.Y. before moving to Connecticut to be closer to her daughter and grandsons.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Stephanie Domanick and her son-in-law Dr. Thomas Domanick, her two grandsons, William and his wife Miranda Wyckoff, Stephen and his wife Anna Delaporte, as well as her great grandson Max. Her grandsons were the pride and joy of her life and she felt so blessed to see them grow to be fine young men. She loved her nieces and nephews, Carol Clarke, Diane Grant (Bob), Carl Stefani (Marilyn), Victor Clarke, Carl Dolle (Elin), Paul Dolle, Richard Hearfield, Robert Hearfield, and Roy Hearfield (Terry).

Her family would like to thank all her kind and caring caregivers at Middlebrook Farms of Trumbull and the Carolton Convalescent Home of Fairfield.

Interment will be private. Her ashes will be buried with her husband at Calverton National Cemetery in Long Island, N.Y.
