Obituary of Rosina Procopio

Rosina Scicchitano Procopio, age 97, of Torrington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at her family's home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Pasquale Procopio. Born in Isca sull'Ionio, Calabria, Italy on March 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Saverio and Saveria (Vittoria) Scicchitano and was a long-time resident of Bridgeport before moving to Torrington. She and her late husband worked for the Bridgeport Board of Education before retiring in Bridgeport.

Survivors include her three loving sons, Joseph Procopio and his wife Joanne of Harwinton, Samuel Procopio and his wife Anna of Derby, and Vincent Procopio and his wife Olga of Leesburg, FL, six grandchildren, Sara Procopio Whitley (James) of FL, Amanda Forish of New Britain, Rosella Procopio DiBianco (John) of North Haven, Joseph Procopio (Celina) of Miami, FL, Mark Procopio (Erin) of OH, Barry Procopio (Lisa) of NYC, two step grandchildren, Jessica Ligas Hess (Jeff) of PA and Melissa Ligas Hurley (Steve) of Torrington, three great grandchildren, Jaden, Eric & Emma Procopio and five step great grandchildren, Nathan & Sarah Hess and Olivia, Eric & Angelina (her "Bumbelina") Hurley and Lily (her little Angel "Bombita") and her grandma Tina as well as numerous cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Ralph Procopio and two daughters, Tina Procopio and Mary Forish. She also leaves her dear friend, Paulina Mirarchi of Kulpmont, PA with whom her daily phones call brought much joy to her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, 851 North Ave., Bridgeport. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum at St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may greet the family on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
