Obituary of Dianne Marlene Clarke-Thomas

Dianne Marlene Clarke-Thomas, age 61, of Bridgeport, the beloved wife of Dorel Alton Thomas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2022, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 3, 1961, in Ewarton, St. Catherine, Jamaica, she was a daughter of Peter Washington Beckford Sr. and Veronica Ellis Bailey and her husband Granville Fitzgerald Bailey. Dianne migrated to the United States of America in 1985.

She was a very hard working and a compassionate woman. With the love she had for people, she became a Certified Nursing Aide. Prior to her living in Bridgeport, she resided in Mount Vernon New York. Dianne continued her to show her love for helping people and was employed at Laurel Gardens of Trumbull for a few years and then continued to spread her passion for caring for the elderly at Atria Senior Living. She then went onto Spring Meadows in Trumbull.

In 2019, she became ill, and she got over her first battle with cancer. Dianne with her strong dedication for work and the caring, loving person she was went back to work and continued with her life. After three years of being cancer free, she was again diagnosed with her second battle with cancer and she fought a good fight until the evening of Saturday September 17, 2022, when she lost her battle. 

In addition to her husband and parents, survivors include her loving sons Kevin and Shaquille Thomas, her brother Austin Bailey and wife Sophia, her brother Orville, her brother Collin Bailey, and wife Blondel, her brother Ervin Bailey and fiancé Julieann Davis, her brother Kerry Bailey and his wife Carla and her sister Karen Bailey-Thomas and her husband Fitzroy. Her survivors also include many nieces and nephews, as well as grandnieces and grandnephews. Her special friends include Marlene, Princess, Sandra and a host of cousins and many other close friends. Dianne is predeceased by her biological father Peter Washington Beckford Sr.

Please join us as we celebrate her life. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 10 a.m. directly in Faith and Hope Apostolic Ministries, 1475 Noble Ave., Bridgeport. Entombment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday September 28, 2022, from 4-7 PM at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, CT 06611.
