Obituary of Raymond C. Hinds

Raymond C. Hinds Sr., age 91, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Marion Rollins Hinds, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 07, 2022. Born in Ilion, New York, on July 17, 1931, he was a son of the late Raymond and Cecelia Hoffert Hinds.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, he was a retired engineer for Textron Lycoming with over 25 years of dedicated service.  

Raymond, at the age of 13 was a R.C. Model Plane enthusiast. It was his passion for a great part of his life.  Raymond wrote a monthly article for R.C. Modeler Magazine for many years. He enjoyed sharing his expertise with other R.C. Model enthusiasts. One of his many model planes, a biplane, was put on display at the Discovery Museum.  He could always be found in the cellar building model airplanes.  

He was also a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford. Ray was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He cared deeply for his family and the love he gave and the memories they created will forever live in their hearts.

Survivors include his eight loving children, Mary Anne Stoica, Theresa Miller and her husband Lawrence, Margaret Simms and her husband Ronald, Ellen Pileski and her late husband Stephen, Susan Amorando and her husband Ralph, Raymond C. Hinds Jr. and his wife April, William Hinds and Michael Hinds, 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by siblings, Harold, Leo and Marie.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Stephen’s Church, 6948 Main St., Trumbull. Interment with military honors will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery of Easton. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday morning from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
