Father Nick was someone who gave me true inner peace when I was at his Mass’s. I had the privilege of working out with him at the local gym in New Fairfield where we shared stories and laughs. He had a profound effect on me & I will never forget him.

Dear Cirillo Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. In the few months I got know Fr. Nick I can truly say that he inspired the parishioners of Holy Trinity and myself with his leadership, kindness, strength and grace. I can honestly say that I have never met a more inspirational man or priest. His example of how to live will inspire me to do better always. I'm sure our Lord is rewarding him with all the love that he has given to so many people.
Sincerely,
Doug Kastilahn

I am so sorry to hear of Fr. Nick's passing. My mom was at Father Nick's first mass celebration at St. Lawrence Church and got a special blessing from it. Later I would attend Sunday afternoon mass with my son and daughter, and Fr. Nick was usually the celebrant. Mass was such a positive experience because scripture was connected to daily life through his sermons. Fr. Nick made sure that we stayed until the last blessing. (No walking out after Communion!), and decorated the sanctuary beautifully. He had such a positive impact on my family, through Emmaus, youth group and weekly mass. He will be missed.

To the Family of Father Nick, I am a long-time member of Saint Lawrence Parish in Shelton, Ct. I was blessed to have had Father Nick at our parish, he married my daughter, Melissa Konecny, and did an amazing job at her Wedding Mass. He touched my heart so much when I would walk into Mass and he would be the celebrant that day. He loved to decorate Saint Lawrence for Christmas, and did a magnificent job! He will be greatly missed, and I would like his family to know how many people whose lives he touched with his Faith and Love. Sincerely, Patricia Konecny

This is called For Our Pastor Sometimes as we travel through this world, our lives are touched by someone who makes a profound impact upon us. Someone whose kindness and sense of humanity serves to make our days just that much brighter.Someone who reminds us of Jesus in his goodness and his capacity to reach out to others. A” gentle man” who takes the time to extend his hand and open his heart to all those in need. Someone who like the shepherd tends to his flock young and old with love and devotion. And the flock, in turn willingly follows the good shepherds lead, knowing in their hearts that he was sent to guide them, in his love and his wisdom, in the greenest of all pastures. Such a man are you,and we are grateful and blessed by your presence in our lives. Thank you Fr. Nick for all you have done and I am so grateful and blessed to have known you. I will keep you in my prayers always. Your friend in Christ Pat Hoenninger

Please accept my sincere condolences. It was an honor to have Fr. Nick as our pastor at St. Edwards. He was truly a spiritual man and welcomed everyone at his parish. You always felt you were a member of this extended family he created . It was my pleasure to know him and share stories with him about his beloved cats Spooky and Snickers.I know when he adopted them he was very happy.Even when he was battling his illness, he showed strength, dignity and always a warm smile. He was a wonderful pastor and we at St. Edwards were truly blessed to know him.I will miss him but I know he is at peace with the Lord now. I will keep him and his family in my prayers.
