Obituary of Thomas A. Chicarelli Sr.

Thomas A. Chicarelli, Sr. passed away peacefully Monday, August 8, 2022 surrounded by his beloved daughter Marianne and son in law Ken. He was the beloved husband of the late Elvira Bruno Chicarelli.

Thomas was born in Bridgeport December 10, 1926, the only child of Angelo and Marie Julian Chicarelli. He was a member of the Greatest Generation, having served in the Army Air Force in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. After the war, Thomas worked with his father and inherited Chicarelli Tile, working alongside his family in Julian Construction. The lure of benefits and regular pay led him to Sikorsky Aircraft, where he worked as a machinist until his retirement. Above all Thomas loved his grandchildren. He could often be found pursuing his passion for gardening and also for cooking. He was an avid reader, and an old school one to boot. He insisted on the print version of the CT Post, even when the digital edition was gaining traction. He loved his grand dogs Luna and Ty. Together they formed the "clean-up crew", cleaning the crumbs dropped by Thomas.

He is survived by his daughters Marianne Jasmin and her husband Ken, Debbie Chicarelli Berke and her husband Craig, Kathleen Ramirez and her husband Felix, and; his grandchildren Amanda Cordes and her husband Jeff, Tommy Chicarelli III, Megan Rzasa and Jeff Buell, Alex and Morgan Jasmin, Felix and Nicholas Ramirez, Gillian Moskwa; and his great-grandchildren Olivia Cordes, Zoe Moskwa and Nicolai Ramirez. In addition to his wife Elvira, he was predeceased by his son Thomas Chicarelli Jr., and his granddaughter Felicia Ramirez.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial directly at Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull on Monday, August 15 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery in Stratford with Military Honors.
