Veronica Warren posted a condolence

I have just learned of the passing of my childhood friend, Diane. I am so terribly sorry. We grew up across the street from each other in Brooklyn and were fast and longtime friends. We often sang together and shared boyfriend stories. We were even in each other's wedding parties.
As friends do, we drifted apart, living in different states (I was in NJ) and attending to our families. We did reunite in 2011, after Jim passed; such sad news indeed. Jim was one of the loveliest prople I have ever known. We did keep in touch for several years, and enjoyed many lunches together as my husband Tom and I traveled up to see our daughter in Middletown CT. Once the pandemic hit, we lost touch again.
We enjoyed hearing stories of Diane's family and seeing pictures of the grandchildren. It was wonderful to see her again,
And of course, I always thought we would get together again soon. I thought I had plenty of time, and I am so sorry that I let that time slip away. I am writing this with a red face, because I should have contacted Diane a long time ago. Please accept my belated condolences on the passing of your dear mother, mother- in- law, and grandmother. Prayers for all of you.

I'm one of Diane's gal pals of 40+ wonderful years. Our breakfasts and lunches were not just about food ~ they were "Dr. Phil" lunches with a big side order of giggles! I will so miss your laughter and light, dear friend, but know that you are at peace and smiling with the love of your life!

I first met Diane thru my best friend , my brother Jimmy. He let me know that he was planning to marry Diane. I remember being very happy for him.Diane was such a pretty girl who was very happy and laughing a lot while she was with Jimmy.

My heart goes out to you all. My middle name is Diane after her as she was my godmother. Cousin to my mom Lorraine Graf Zabel (2015) Aunt Diane was one of the first people to get a hold of me when my Mom past away and told me fun stories of them growing up. Again my heart goes out to you.
