Obituary of Helen M. Reh

Helen M. Atanas Reh, age 98, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2022 at the Jewish Home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 75 years to the late John H. Reh, Sr. Born in Bridgeport on April 5, 1924, Helen was a daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Terezi) Atanas. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dawn Marie Fleming.

Helen and her husband were the proprietors of two J & H Crown Food Stores in Bridgeport and The Sassafras in Huntington Center. She was a girl scout leader at Blessed Sacrament Church and a member of the women's auxiliary at St George's Albanian Orthodox Church. She enjoyed bowling, playing golf at Tashua Knolls where she was a longtime member, and was a wonderful bridge player and a Justice of the Peace for the Town of Trumbull. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and the family highlight was spending Thanksgiving at Grandma's, those memories will never be forgotten.

Survivors include a sister, Shirley Jordan, her three loving children, Gail Patrignelli and her husband Bob, John (Jack) Reh, Jr. and his wife Carol, and Donna Sharpe and her husband Benjamin, her twelve grandchildren, Jennifer Costantini (Nick), Dr. Robert Patrignelli, Kelly Santiago (John), Julie McKelvey (Bob), Lori Haenn (Geoff), Ronald Ragona, Marybeth Trafecante (Michael), Heather Uva (Richard), Danielle Hall (Keith), John Reh (Megan), Carrie Adam and Jonathan Adam, twenty-three great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren that will forever cherish her memory as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her daughter Dawn, she was predeceased by four sisters, Dorothy Louis, Julia Adam, Mildred Giannini and Harriet Lambert.

Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. DIRECTLY in St. George Albanian Orthodox Church, 5490 Main Street, Trumbull. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
