Obituary of Gino Magliocco
Gino Magliocco, age 84, of Monroe, beloved husband of Primarosa Vastano Magliocco, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 21, 2022. Born in Torrice, Frosinone, Italy on March 22, 1938, he was a son of the late Antonio and Maria Magliocco.
At the age of 18, along with his brother Renato, they moved to Caracas, Venezuela, where they learned the auto body repair trade. Upon coming to the United States in 1971, Gino worked for Frank Pinto Auto Body in Bridgeport, and eventually started his own business, R & G Auto Body, with his brother.
On July 17, 1971, he married the love of his life, after proposing to Prima at the Merritt Canteen!
Gino was one of a kind, a true gem. He was big hearted, genuine, funny, caring, a sweetheart of a man. He was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need, no matter what. He had an infectious smile and could make anyone laugh. He enjoyed being around family & friends, loved their celebrations and was always the first one on the dance floor and the last one off.
He loved making homemade wine, tending to his garden and sharing with those around him. If he wasn’t with his family, you can find him playing cards and spending time with his friends at Circolo.
But above everything, he was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was at his best when with his grandchildren and his smile would light up the room. The unconditional love he gave and the family values he taught will forever live in their hearts. Gino will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Gino was predeceased by his loving daughter Anna Maria Magliocco, brothers and sister-in-law, Sebastiano Magliocco and Renato Magliocco Sr. and his wife Dina and nephew Anthony Magliocco.
In addition to his beloved wife of 50 years, Prima, survivors include two loving children, Gina DaSilva and her husband Jorge of Shelton and Loretta ( Lori ) Monteiro and her husband Billy of Monroe, three cherished and adored grandchildren, Briana and Nicole DaSilva and Cristiano Monteiro, a sister, Vincenzina Turrizziani and her husband Vincenzo, sister-in-law, Giovaninna Magliocco all of Italy, nephews and nieces, Renato Magliocco Jr., and his wife Christine, Maria Loescher and her husband Dieter, Antonello Magliocco and Nicolina and Dario Turrizziani, Godsons Dan Mastroianni & Kevin Giacobbe whom he shared a very special bond with as well as several great nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, neighbors and friends.
