Obituary of Frederick J. Coppola
Frederick J. Coppola, age 79, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Monday, March 14, 2022 at home surrounded by his family after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Beverly (Sweeney) Coppola. Born in Bridgeport on March 3, 1943 he was the son of the late Fred "Fritz" and Carmella (Dentato) Coppola. Fred had worked as a Radiological Technician at St. Vincent's Medical Center for over 30 years before his retirement and most recently had been employed at First Aid Immediate Healthcare in Trumbull. He was an avid reader and artist. His love for music led to his talents in playing various instruments such as the guitar, trombone and also the piano. In the late 1950's and early 60's Fred was a member of the Saint Raphael Dance Band, a talented group of musicians that toured and entertained worldwide. A loving and devoted husband, father and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his beloved wife Beverly of 58 years, other survivors include his loving sons, Gregory Coppola and his fiancée Tracy Lane and David Coppola and his wife Linda, both of Bridgeport. He is also survived by his cousins, Rosemary Wellington and Carl Coppola, both of Florida. He was predeceased by a cousin, Joyce Buttery.
Friends may greet the family on Monday, March 21, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. At the family's request, face masks are encouraged. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
