Obituary of Elsie D'Eramo

Elsie (Suffoletti) D'Eramo, age 95, of Orange passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Orest M. "Orbie" D'Eramo. Born in Pettorano, Italy on November 21, 1926 she was a daughter of the late Enrico and Filomena (Cellini) Suffoletti. Elsie had worked alongside her husband as the co-owner of the former United Heating and Plumbing Contractors of Trumbull for over 45 years. Mrs. D'Eramo was a woman of great faith and was a dedicated longtime parishioner of Christ the King Trumbull, where she built many friendships over the years. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing cards with her family and friends. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Survivors include her loving children, Michael D'Eramo and his wife Christine of FL, Gail Melkus and her husband Carl of Orange, Gary D'Eramo of West Haven and Eric D'Eramo and his wife Suzanne of Sandy Hook, her cherished grandchildren, Erica D'Eramo and her husband Matthew Skinner, Briana D'Eramo Duhan and her husband Chris, Megan D'Eramo Casini and her husband Steve, Brett Collins, Stephanie Melkus Hashemi and her husband David, Ian Collins, Jillian D'Eramo, Caitlin D'Eramo, Lauren Melkus and her fiancé Tim Boyle and Luke Collins, her adored great grandchildren, Jaxon and Leo Hashemi, her loving niece, Lola Mencarelli Szobota and her husband John of NJ as well as several additional nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband Orbie, she was also predeceased by her daughter, Lisa D'Eramo Collins, her sisters, Marguerite Mencarelli and Jennie Cercone and her brother, Joseph Suffoletti.

Friends may greet the family on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Rd., Newtown. Masks must be worn for both services. Interment will be held privately for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bridgeport Rescue Mission,1069 Connecticut Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06607.
