Obituary of Richard A. Kardos

Richard A. Kardos, age 80, of Derby passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 28, 2021 after a courageous five year battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Donna (Eli) Kardos.

Born in Bridgeport on April 18, 1941 he was a son of the late Andrew and Theresa (Squezello) Kardos. Mr. Kardos had enjoyed his retirement by spending time with the people he loved. He was an avid reader and found great enjoyment building model cars and planes in his spare time. His greatest enjoyment however was found doing anything that involved spending time with his family, especially his grandsons, whom he adored above all else. Dick was a selfless man who put the needs of everyone before his own. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife Donna of 58 years, he leaves behind his loving daughters, Kimberly Beauchemin and her husband Denis of Shelton and Kelly Ferguson and her husband Thomas of Derby, and his cherished grandsons, Eric and Jake Ferguson and Evan and Jack Beauchemin. He will be lovingly remembered by his brother-in-law Donald Eli and his wife Elaine, cherished niece and nephew Becky Crawley and Douglas Eli and their families, as well as his cousins Jean Caserta, Gary and David Kardos. He will be missed by his beloved rescue dog Minnie.

Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. A prayer service will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be held privately for the immediate family.
