Obituary of Angelo Charles DePiano
Angelo Charles DePiano (Uncle Charlie), of Trumbull, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 12, 2021, two days shy of his 98th birthday. Born in Bridgeport, CT on September 14, 1923, he was the oldest son of the late John and Lucy Iannarone DePeano. He was a U.S. Army WWII combat veteran with the 106th Cavalry. Their many accomplishments during the liberation of Europe included the rescue of King Leopold III of Belgium from captivity in Germany. Charlie, ever the humble man, worked as a Tool and Die Maker at U.S. Baird for many years before his retirement. He was a loving father figure to his entire family, and was generous with his time, attention and billfold. He was predeceased by his brothers, John DePeano and Albert DePeano, a sister, Lonarda Litzie, and brother-in-law John Litzie.
Survivors include his sisters-in-law, Eleanor DePeano of Milford and Lucille DePeano of Trumbull, as well as nine dedicated and loving nieces and nephews and their spouses, along with many great and great great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, September, 17, 2021 at 9 a.m. directly in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Masks and social distance are required, as visitors walk through, pay their respects, and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through the building. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
