Obituary of Andrea Gariglio

Andrea Gariglio, age 85, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Giulia Dora Gariglio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 9, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 26, 1935 in Marcianise, Caserta, Italy, he was a son of the late Giuseppe and Teresa Boccagna Gariglio. Andrea immigrated to the United States in 1976 and settled with his family in Bridgeport. He was a retired employee of Dresser Industries with over 40 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed fishing, clamming, making wine but his true passion was his garden. He could often be found in the yard tending to his vegetables. But above all things he was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He treasured when his family was together, and his smile could light a room when his grandchildren were around. The unconditional love he gave will live in their hearts forever. Andrea will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his beloved wife Giulia, of 54 years, survivors include three loving children, Joseph Gariglio and his wife Marianne, Madeline Gariglio and her husband Jose Lopez and Joanne Gariglio Tiago and her husband Fernando, four cherished grandchildren, Kristina Lopez, Ava Gariglio and Mason and Gianna Tiago, as well as several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and many dear friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Giacomo Gariglio and a sister, Angela Andreozzi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends can greet the family on Monday morning from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
