I was a student of Carol's, FLHS '08. In 2007, I was struggling with anorexia. Miss Samuelson, as we called her, pulled me aside one day after school, and told me she could tell I was struggling, and was always here if I needed help. Many people had said that. But her voice, her love, touched me. A few weeks later, i got treatment. When I came back to school, she let me talk to her students about anorexia and eating disorders in general. She was an angel. I am so saddened to know of her passing. I am writing a book and she is in it. Thank you.

Carol was an awesome person. I still remember the days she use to tutor me growing in my younger childhood days. The first thing I remembered was walking into her house and seeing her huge smilie. Than as I turned the corner I would smell that plate of yummy cookies she just baked. She would always make me work hard for a cookie, if I got a certain percentage correct on my work I could have a cookie. You will definitely be missed but your Legacy will continue on.

Carol had such a way of looking right at you in such a way that you felt you were the only person who mattered to her at the moment. What a blessing to know her and to know that we will see her again. To Scott, Erika, Katrina, Wayne, Mark, Son’s in Laws, and her precious grand children, (and other family members): Carol loved you all dearly. Our love and prayers as you go through this time.

There are so many memories. I guess it is Carol's hospitality and generosity that have touched my life so much. She had always encouraged me to visit New England in the Fall. So when I planned my round the world trip, my first stop, a two week stay with Csrol began with New England in the Fall. She organised so many wonderful outings during those two weeks. A trip to Washington D.C was a highlight, not least because we got to visit the Capitol Building when it was closed to the public. I shall never forget her excitement as we stood in the House of Representatives...commenting on all the history. How she pointed out the burn marks caused by the British...as if it were my fault!
She wanted to make the trip special for me and bought me a Pandora bracelet with instructions to buy a charm in every country I visited so I had a lasting memory. She also gave me my first charm in my favourite colours. So thoughtful....so generous. I will miss you and my visits to you. Love you my friend.
