Obituary of Joan Marie Finnegan

Joan Marie Fico Finnegan, age 68, of Trumbull, a retired secretary for Burns Construction Co., died on Monday, March 9, 2009 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Yonkers, NY on April 11, 1940, she was a daughter of the late James V. and Carmella Delladonna Fico. Mrs Finnegan was a member of the St. Stephen Church Altar Guild and was a devoted fan of the NY Mets and UCONN girls basketball team.

Survivors include her husband, Donald J. Finnegan, two sons, James Finnegan of Trumbull and Joseph Finnegan and his wife Jennifer of Oklahoma, a daughter, Donna Engelman and her husband Fred of Trumbull, a brother, Gerald Fico and his wife Nancy of Shelton, two sisters, Margaret Minopoli and her husband Joseph of Trumbull and Beverley Hassan and her husband Dane of Florida, a great aunt and uncle Viola and Charles Daly of Bridgeport, four grandchildren, Connor, Emily, Jackson and Ashley as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Funeral services will take place on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 10 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family through the funeral home.
