Obituary of Vincenza Mariani

Vincenza Perciballi Mariani, age 82, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of John Mariani, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Ripi, Frosinone, Italy on April 29, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Francesco and Giovanna Gesuale Perciballi. Vincenza immigrated to the U.S. in 1958, settling in Bridgeport. A seamstress and dressmaker by trade, she was a retired employee of Victoria's Secret and was formerly employed by Seaside Blouse and Warnaco.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cared deeply for her family; Vincenza was a faithful woman who enjoyed to travel, pilgrimage throughout holy lands, spending time with her family, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her beloved husband John of 64 years, survivors include her three loving children, Rose Micanovic and her husband William of Shelton, John Mariani Jr. and his wife Nace of Bridgeport, and Vincenza M. Mariani of West Haven, four cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Micanovic, Sara Widomski and her husband Scott, Kamie DiMartino and Brianna Natale and her husband Matthew, nine cherished great grandchildren, Evan, Giovanni, Alivia, William, Gavin, Lillian Grace, Camden, Grayson, and Lincoln Rose, sisters, Paula Verrelli and Maria Gesuale and her husband Luigi, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet directly in St. Margaret Shrine, 2205 Park Ave., Bridgeport, on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Roman Catholic Burial. Entombment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. A walk-through visitation will take place this Monday, July 12, 2021 from 4 – 7 pm at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. It is appreciated that visitors wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects, and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through the building.
