Obituary of Millie (Milagros) Sarni
Millie (Milagros) Sarni, age 75, of Orange, Connecticut, and beloved wife of Michael Sarni Sr, passed away peacefully at her home on February 21, 2021, with her loving family by her side. Born on August 14th, she was the daughter of the late Pedro E. Ramirez and the late Amelia Ramirez. Millie was compassionate, charitable, and social. She often volunteered in the community, including St. Vincent's Medical Center and her local parish. Millie carried her entrepreneurial spirit as a business owner with her husband at Sarni Flexographics and previously as the salon owner of Not Just Nails. Her sense of style, poise, beauty, and grace was recognized at an early age, and she was scouted by a New York City based agency and employed as a professional fashion model. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Known to her five grandchildren as "Mimi", they were the light of her life. No social gathering, friend's luncheon or event went without her expressing her love and pride in all of them and their achievements. Her grandchildren will fondly remember her for her expression of love by cooking them gourmet meals and desserts on demand. Millie was an icon in her family and had a presence like no other. Her family was everything to her, she especially loved family gatherings where she got the opportunity to see and visit with all the many nieces and nephews she loved so dearly. Millie loved to travel and frequently visited many countries with her husband Michael for business. Those who knew and loved Millie will remember her for her spunk, having great inner strength, her gift of entertaining, loyalty and generosity.
In addition to her husband of 22 years, survivors include her three loving daughters, Tammy Edwards and her husband Richard, Trisha Haviland-Smith and her fiancé, Jack Olexovitch , Tara Scialo-Schuld and her husband John, her stepson, Michael Sarni Jr, five cherished grandchildren, Ashley Edwards, Richard J. Edwards Jr., H. Clark Smith II, Jake Schuld and Jenna Schuld. She is survived by her siblings, Iris (Jose) Reyes, Lydia Dejesus, Sandy Sheldon, Maria Ramirez, Pete (Aytxa) Ramirez, Robert (Norma) Ramirez and Carmen (Frank Medina) Cruz, sisters-in-laws; Donna DeRecinos, Robin Ramirez, Lucille Ramirez and Cecily Ramirez , as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by many brothers and sisters that she loved so dearly.
