Obituary of Thomas M. Kolasa

Thomas M. Kolasa, age 79, of Monroe, beloved husband of Irene Bartoszek Kolasa, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born on February 8, 1933 in Buffalo, NY, he was a son of the late Martin and Sophie Osmola Kolasa. A U. S. Army veteran, Mr. Kolasa was a retired engineer for United Technologies. After retiring, he enjoyed 12 years as a substitute teacher for the Monroe Public School System. In addition to Irene, his wife of 54 years, survivors include two daughters, Paula J. Wilson of Monroe and Andrea S. McDonald and her husband John of Simsbury, three grandchildren, Michael McDonald of New Haven and Stephen and David McDonald of Simsbury. He was pre-deceased by his twin brother and sister, Victor and Theresa and his son-in-law, Edmund Wilson. The family would like to extend blessings and heartfelt thanks to the compassionate doctors, nurses and staff at St. Vincent Medical Center. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Stephen Church, 6948 Main St., Trumbull on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial followed by military honors. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
