Obituary of Sylvia Saccone

Sylvia De La Victoria Saccone, age 87, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Louis J. Saccone, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 in Griffin Hospital. Born on July 2, 1933 in New York, New York, she was a daughter of the late Jose and Carmen Escobar De La Victoria. Sylvia was a retired secretary for the Fairfield Board of Education Transportation Department.

Sylvia enjoyed traveling with her family, especially her trips to Florida, where she could relax in the sun. She loved lady's day out with her friends, where they would be care free, laugh and truly enjoy the day. Sylvia enjoyed life to the fullest and made everyone around her feel loved.

But above all her family was most important; she was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She treasured time spent with her family, especially the memories of Wednesdays at the pool with her grandchildren. The unconditional love she gave, and the memories created will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She was the strongest woman you would ever know.

In addition to her husband Lou, she was predeceased by a son, Peter Saccone. Survivors include four children, Joseph Saccone of Bridgeport and his children, Christopher and Corey Saccone, Lisa Saccone of Derby and her children, James and John Piazza, Gina Saccone of Naugatuck and her children, Sophie and Sylvie Boucher and William Saccone and his wife Cynthia of Florida and their children, William, Isabella and Gabriela Saccone, a sister Olga De La Victoria of West Palm Beach, FL, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. directly in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels farm Rd., Trumbull. Face masks are required, and social distancing will be expected. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, Trumbull.
