Obituary of Richard D. Schietinger

Richard D. Schietinger, age 81 of East Hartland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Newtown Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born on December 12, 1938 in Bridgeport, CT, he was a son of the late Arthur Frank and Margaret Manson Schietinger, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Prior to retirement, Richard worked as a building mechanic for SNET.

Richard is survived by his spouse, Katherine D'Andrea Schietinger, his children, Glenn R. Schietinger and his wife Judy, Bryan Schietinger and his wife Jen, Ken Schietinger, and Rick Schietinger, grandchildren, Jocelyn and Tate, a sister, Sally Cavey and her husband Richard, Jesse Walkoviak and his wife Leigh Ann, and their children Haileigh, Zachary, and Caiden, Cynthia Wilson and her husband Bill, and their children Stella and Sadie, as well was many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his companion, Victoria Walkoviak and his two sisters, Barbara Niles and Lois Schietinger.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.

All funeral services will be private.
