Over the last 40 plus years I have photographed close to 300 model railroads for Kalmbach Publishing Company throughout the United States and Canada. Without a doubt one of the finest of those railroads was the creation of Bob Collet. Working together, Bob and I managed to have his beautiful Huntington & Hartford Railroad featured in Kalmbach’s Model Railroad publications on more than one occasion.
Bob was also one of the finest, most knowledgeable, thoughtful and sharing of all the modelers I ever had the privilege to meet. Bob was always willing to share his expertise regarding the hobby of model railroading with me, as he was with everyone.
Bob and his wife Jackie became good friends with my wife Cheryl and me over the years. It was easy to see that he truly loved Jackie and his family and respected and valued his friends. He was a true craftsman, gentleman, and an electronics genius. His willingness to share his knowledge and his friendship will sincerely be missed by all of us who were fortunate enough to have known him.
