I knew Otto when we were both very young from age 9 through age 18 when he went away to lehigh university.I always enjoyed meeting his mother and father.His mom the very hard working German woman and his father as a quiet strong man who went to sea. All together I remember spending a lot of time together, working out and having great conversations about how our lives would turn out.I came from a large family and he as an only child had many important conversations . After he went away to college we lost contact but I always remember him as a real stand up guy.Recently he came to mind and in tracking him down I found his obituary.I regret not having the opportunity of speaking to my old friend Otto Hayden Atkinson. The Lord is with him. My condolences,joe McCarthy

Otto had an extremely powerful life on this earth and was a true Patriot and warrior. He was a hero to me. I pray that his family receives the comfort of our Lord and Savior.

Otto, family, and I served on the Holy Cross Evangelism Committee at some point in the early 90s. He was an inspirational leader, a good listener, thoughtful, and gracious. We spoke frequently Sunday mornings. He truly will be missed.
