Candy cared so much for every baby she had in her presence. She protected them fiercely as well! I will never forget my husband telling me about the woman who wouldn’t let him in the door because she didn’t know who he was! (He was arriving early to drop something off and she hadn’t met him yet) Heaven gains an angel to protect and care for the babies. Rest In Peace. The McKeon Family

Dear Justin and Anthony,
I have many fond memories of your mom and Candice and of you Justin, in my kindergarten class at Sunnyside School. Your mom was the best helper in our kindergarten class. Her energy, enthusiasm and kindness touched me and all the students. She was an amazing woman. I feel fortunate to have known her.
Thinking of you both in your time of loss. May the wonderful memories you shared over the years comfort you.
Love,
Marion Choromanski

From the moment I met Candy, I felt the love and commitment she had for everyone around her. Her focus and love for all her babies was evident in everything she did - from ensuring they ate their veggies, to making sure they were out on a buggy ride to feel the sunshine. Candy was always happy - enjoying life’s pleasures in every way possible. She was content because she was madly in love with her husband, Anthony, and felt sheer pride and joy from her children - Justin and Lisa. Her life was beautiful in every way. I know she will continue to watch over all of us, and the memories we have will guide us. I will forever think of Candy when the weather is beautiful, “Go outside for a walk.” I will hear her say. And when it rains, I will think of the flowers she loved that needed a drink. Candy, you brought so much happiness into everyone’s life that was fortunate to know you. Thank you. Rest In Peace, my dear friend.

We want to send our deepest condolences to the Montellese family. Candy cared for our son when he was just a baby and was the most wonderful and loving teacher anybody could ever hope for. She made us feel so at ease knowing he was well cared for and taught him so much, even how to walk. It was clear from the first day we met her that she was a very special person.
I hope you can find peace knowing how many lives she touched, including the countless children who will grow up having had the benefit of spending their earliest and most formative days with her. We will miss her greatly.

I remember Candy and Anthony as teenagers and how enamored they were of each other. I remember when Anthony would go play street hockey and Candy was with him. I remember Candy and Phyllis and me sitting around the kitchen table in Long Island laughing and teasing Candy about life. I remember how proud she was of her American Indian heritage. One incident I clearly remember when Candy told Phyllis and me that we were very wasteful with our food. We asked how and she said we cut off too much of usable portions from our vegetables such as onions and broccoli etc. and that we never freeze leftovers. Phyllis and I laughed. Looking back, I do remember we were very wasteful back then especially with Sunday sauces because in our younger days we never did freeze leftovers. Something I do now whenever possible. I have fortunately been able to catch happy glimpses of Anthony and Candy and their Justin over the years on facebook and pleased to see that they had a wonderful life together. I know she will be deeply missed. I have always had fond memories of Candy and since Carmen let me know a while back of her illness she has been in my thoughts and prayers. I am sorry for your loss. Please accept my heartfelt condolences for Anthony and Justin and family. Remembering Candy and Phyllis and theirs and my family losses I can’t help but remember the song we played when I lost my sister “See You Again” by Carrie Underwood. It is a comforting song reminding us of how significant that bond is to want to be together now and later to see each other again. I will pray that you find comfort and peace during this sorrowful time.
