James J. Quinn III, age 67, lifelong resident of Bridgeport and beloved husband of JoAnne DeChario Quinn, passed away suddenly at his home in Bridgeport on Saturday, July 7, 2018. Born on October 3, 1950 in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late James J. and Jenny Farina Quinn II.
James served with pride in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. When he returned his call to service continued as he served for 30 years as a Pumper Engineer with the City of Bridgeport Fire Department. When he wasn't serving his community, he enjoyed his time as a member of the Fairfield County Fish and Game Club in Newtown, the Germania Schwaben Club, and the Bridgeport Area Retired Firefighters. James enjoyed his summers by camping, boating and fishing at Lake Waramaug State Park, as well as riding his Harley motorcycle. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, daughters and his dogs the most. He was a loving husband, father, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife JoAnne of 44 years, he is survived by his three cherished daughters, Julie Quinn of Shelton, Colleen Quinn of Bridgeport, and Kathleen Sousa and her husband Kenneth of Tyngsboro, MA; his dogs, T-Bone, Winnie, Bear, and Bailey; and his sister Patricia Quinn of FL.
