Obituary of Donna M. Irizarry

Donna M. Irizarry, age 53, of Bridgeport, an employee for the Bridgeport Police Department with 18 years of service, lost an eight year courageous battle with lung cancer on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 in St. Raphael Hospital, New Haven. Born in Bridgeport on March 24, 1956, she was a daughter of Evelyn Bove Perkins of Norwalk and the late Richard J. Perkins Sr. She was a 1974 graduate of Central High School.

In addition to her mother, she leaves to cherish her memory five sons, David Wilkus of West Haven, George Colon of Wallingford, Michael, Anthony and Daniel Irizarry, all of Bridgeport, a brother Richard Perkins Jr. and his wife Tammy of Bridgeport, a niece, Karli Perkins, a nephew R. J. Perkins, as well as several additional nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends. 

Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Saturday, April 11, 2009 from 2-6 p.m.
