Obituary of Pasquale Varrone

Pasquale (Patsy) Varrone, age 91, of Bridgeport, passed away on May 26, 2018. He was born on April 9, 1927 to John and Maria Varrone in Pontelandolfo, Benevento, Italy. He came to the United States as a teenager and married his beloved wife of 65 years, Antoinette Guerrera Varrone.

He worked as a machine operator for U.S. Time Co. in Waterbury, CT but was employed for most of his life by Anthony Julian Railroad Construction Co. in Bridgeport as a heavy machine operator. He was a member of IUOE Local 478.

Patsy was a member of the United States Armed Forces and served in the Army overseas in Germany. He was a long-time member of the Pontelandolfo Club in Waterbury and had a passion for gardening and spending time with his family and extended family.

In addition to his wife, Patsy is survived by his four devoted children; Ann Marie (Jack) Barnhart of Winter Haven, FL, John (Joanne) Varrone of Waterbury, Linda Varrone of Bridgeport, Darlene (Kurt) Kepshire of Bonita Springs, FL; his four beloved grandchildren; J.T. (Erin) Barnhart, Jennifer Barnhart, Kurt Kepshire, Delaney Kepshire; and his two great-grandchildren, John Michael and Evyn Claire Barnhart, as well as his two nieces, Mary Ann DeSorbo and Madelyn Licese.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dominick, and sister Nicolina.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment with full military honors will follow in the Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
