Obituary of Linda T. Cervero

Linda T. Cervero, born and raised in Bridgeport, CT, passed away peacefully on Dec. 8, 2017, at the age of 69. She is predeceased by her parents, Steven and Alice Cervero and survived by a brother Robert Cervero and his wife Barbara, an aunt and uncle, Pam and Frank Cervero and several relatives.

She was a graduate of Central High School and attended Housatonic Community College. Linda had worked as a Graphics Artist for Hometown Publication for several years and Program Director with the Bridgeport Aging Department for seniors before retiring. Linda was dedicated to feeding the homeless and needy every Sunday during the winter months for 25 years under the bridge on John St. and was very well known as the Soup Lady. She was also very passionately involved in animal rescue for many years. Linda had many accomplishments and won several awards such as, Journalism Award for Publisher of the Year for Leisure Life. A Civic Award of Italian American of the Year, as well as many General Assembly awards for her dedication to the community. Linda had dedicated her life to all who needed a helping hand and will be sadly missed.

A Memorial Mass will take place at Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Ave., Westport CT, on Friday December 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Assumption Church in honor of Linda, which has been so faithful in helping her to help others.
