Obituary of Frederick J Russo
Frederick J. Russo, age 82, known to all of his friends as "Chic", of Monroe passed away peacefully on Monday, November 13, 2017 at Bridgeport Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Joan T. Giumarra Russo. Born in Bridgeport on November 18, 1934, he was a son of the late Frederick A. and Rose Tuzzio Russo. Mr. Russo was an avid golfer and also loved horses. Fred was an entrepreneur who was passionate for his antique lamp restoration business. He also looked forward to time spent playing cards with his friends. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his beloved wife Joan, other survivors include his children, Monte Russo and his companion Sherri Longo and Marci Harrington and her husband Frank, both of Monroe, his beloved grandchildren, Candice Harrington and her companion Mike Williams, Kaila Aurelia and her husband Michael, Kyle Harrington and Justin Russo, his brothers, John Russo and Kenneth Russo and his sister, Joanne Spata. He is also survived by his cherished "Cooper the Cat", who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Jude Church, 505 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements have been trusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smilow Cancer Center, Office of Development, Yale New Haven Hospital PO Box 1849 New Haven, CT 06508-9979.
