Obituary of Francesco DeLilla

Francesco DeLilla, age 84, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born on April 10, 1933, in San Severo, Province of Foggia, Italy, he was a son of the late Ciro and Giula Petrosino DeLilla. Francesco was a retired machinist for Bridgeport Machines, with over 25 years of dedicated service and was also an electrician in Australia for 10 years. Before immigrating to the United States, he was a member of the Italian Army.

Once in the U.S., he attended Bullard Havens Technical School, where he took electrical classes. He enjoyed spending time in his yard, gardening and playing Italian card games with his family and friends. But above all, he was a dedicated father and grandfather. Francesco will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include two loving children, Antonio DeLilla and his wife Clare of Thetford, Norfolk, England and Frank DeLilla of Bridgeport, a cherished granddaughter, Ava DeLilla, his former wife, Ginevre DeLilla of Bridgeport; a brother, Vincenzo DeLilla of San Severo, Italy, three sisters, Maria Dogali and Antoinette Pavia both of Bridgeport and Soccorsa Marini and her husband Gino of Trumbull, as well as several nieces and nephews in the United States and Italy. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph DeLilla and two sisters, Anna DeLilla and Melina Petruzzelli.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Margaret's Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1 – 5 p.m.
