Obituary of Gerri Alicandro Koulouris

Gerri Alicandro Koulouris, age 75, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 15, 2017 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on October 23, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Gennaro and Concetta Discepolo Alicandro and was a longtime resident of Bridgeport. Before starting a family, she was a budding professional jazz and blues singer who frequently performed in New York, and once made a televised appearance with her supporting band. She was known as "Little Sarah" throughout the Tri-State area, given her pitch-perfect voice being so similar to that of Sarah Vaughn. Later pursuing other forms of creative and artistic expression, she opened her own ceramics studio called Toys In the Attic, and went on to become a sought-after floral designer in CT, who would later do some of her best custom and high-style floral work in Beverly Hills, CA.

Survivors include her loving son, Chris Koulouris, II and his wife Sherri of Seymour, a sister, Judy Parisi, her husband Vincent of Stratford, and a grandson, P.J. The family would like to thank the staff at Ludlowe Health Center and St. Vincent's Hospital/ICU for their professional and compassionate care.

Friends are invited to meet directly in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Ave., Bridgeport, on Thursday, September 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. for The Rite of Burial with Fr. Georgios Livaditis, Presbyter officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 with Trisagion service at 6:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
