Obituary of Mardiros Azarian

Mardiros (Mardy) Azarian, age 88, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Hermine Azarian, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2017. Born on February 24, 1929 in Aleppo, Syria, he was a son of the late Azar Azarian and Victoria Azarian.

A U.S. Army veteran, he was the founding owner of TelcoOne, a successful telecom company in Norwalk CT. Mardy was an active board member and parish council president of the Armenian Church of Holy Ascension in Trumbull Ct.

In addition to his beloved wife of 56 years, Hermine, survivors include two loving children, Greg Azarian and his wife Hilde of Easton and Victoria Azarian Sabarese of New York, New York, three cherished grandchildren, Kristine, Alexandra and Elle, a brother, Nazareth Azarian and his wife Margaret of Fairfield, a sister, Anna Zaker of Fairlawn, NJ, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Steve Azarian.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. directly in the Armenian Church of the Holy Ascension, 1460 Huntington Turnpike, Trumbull. Burial to follow, family and close friends only please. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday evening from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Armenian Church of the Holy Ascension, followed by a service at 7:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Untzag Nalbandian.
