Obituary of Gene Memoli

Gene Memoli, age 89, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Elizabeth "Libby" Churman Memoli, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on August 13, 1927, he was a son of the late Francesco and Belinda Rodia Memoli and was a proud graduate of Harding High School. He managed John's Pharmacy, Bridgeport for many years and was a milkman for Rock House Dairy in Easton. Along with his brother Angelo, they founded Memoli and Memoli Real Estate in Bridgeport, which is still in existence today. Gene enjoyed his drives to Kent and other areas of northwestern Connecticut. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who treasured time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his loving children, Frank Memoli and his companion Debi Sazama of Stratford, Gene Memoli and his wife Peggy of Shelton, Michael Memoli of Phoenix, AZ, Belinda Memoli and her fiancé Thomas Naples, Elizabeth Vittoria and her husband Salvatore, and Margaret Memoli, all of Bridgeport, his brother Anthony Memoli and his wife Janet of Stratford, sister-in-law, Lucille Memoli of Trumbull, grandchildren, Mario Memoli, Gino Memoli, Michaelyn Memoli and her husband Darrel Johnson, Anthony Memoli and Annabella McDonough and three adored great grandchildren, Darrel III, Verona and Vallerie as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Anthony R. Memoli, and a brother, Angelo Memoli. The family would like to thank George Zamary for his weekly visits and loving support. Funeral Services will take place on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
