Obituary of Enrique Jose Reyesgavilan

Enrique Jose Reyesgavilan, age 86, of Shelton, beloved husband of the late Rosa Millat Reyesgavilan, passed away at home on Thursday, April 6, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Habana, Cuba on May 20, 1930, he was a son of the late Jose A. and Irma Garcia Reyesgavilan. He was a computer operator for IBM for many years before his retirement. An avid sports fanatic, especially baseball, basketball and tennis, he was also a diehard New York Mets and New York Knicks supporter. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include a son, Enrique Reyesgavilan of Harwinton and a daughter, Rosa Paredes and her husband Jorge of Shelton, two brothers, Eloy Reyesgavilan of Richmond, VA and Jose Reyesgavilan of Miami, FL, a sister, Marta Diaz of Union City, NJ, six grandchildren, Venessa, Maribel, Christopher, Laura, Steven and Natalie, and two great grandchildren, Aaron and Adriana, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife, Rosa, he was also predeceased by a sister, Irma Asencio. Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawn Cemetery, Shelton. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
