Obituary of Alfred M. Forte

Alfred M. Forte, age 91, of Huntington, passed into eternal rest in his residence on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Eleanor Salvio Forte. Alfred was born in Bridgeport on March 10, 1925 and was the son of the late Pasquale and Marie Cavaliere Forte. He is also pre-deceased by three sisters and three brothers, Lena Forte, Inez Cook, Clara Weeks, Mario, Robert and Leonard Forte. Al proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and is a veteran of World War II. He was also a member of the VFW Post 10059 in Trumbull. In his younger years, he was an avid hunter and enjoyed horse racing throughout his life. His carpentry skills were impeccable and he enjoyed helping his family and friends with household improvements. Al was a retired manufacturing engineer for Sikorsky Aircraft. He had a dear and loving relationship with his nieces and nephews and continued to share that love with his many grand nieces and nephews. He has touched many lives and will forever be in our fondest memories. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife Eleanor include two sisters in law, Rita Salvio Riccio of Naugatuck and Genevieve Bruno Salvio of Trumbull, several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 200 Shelton Road, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Harvester Road, Easton. Friends may call on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
