Obituary of Jean M. Calabro

Jean Brunetto Calabro, age 95, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Joseph Calabro, died peacefully on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on May 2, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Brunetto. Jean and Joseph were married on February 18, 1950. She provided a loving home for her family and was always a strong supporter of her husband and the family business, Calabro Cheese Corporation, currently located in East Haven, CT. Her famous kitchen recipes using her husband's hand made products were displayed in feature articles in the local newspaper. She is survived by her loving children, a son, Salvatore J. Calabro of East Haven, CT, and a daughter Rita A. Calabro M.D. and her husband Christopher Carroll, her four cherished grandchildren, Connor, Christian, Cameron and Charlotte Calabro Carroll, all of Falls Church, Virginia, a sister-in-law, Millie Angeloni of North Branford, CT, a nephew and niece, Frank and Rose Angeloni and her great nephews and niece, Elliot, Sara and Michael, all of North Branford, CT. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday from 4-7 p.m. Those desiring may have a mass said in her memory.
