Obituary of Nicholas P. Dolyak
Nicholas P. Dolyak, age 80, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Philomena (Mame) Aldo Dolyak, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at his home surrounded by his devoted family. Born in Bridgeport on July 1, 1936, he was the son of the late Michael and Agnes Fusco Dolyak. Mr. Dolyak proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. and before his retirement he was the owner along with his wife of Advanced Investment Strategies. Nicholas was an avid hunter, golfer, and sailor and had a great love for all animals. He was a great cook and enjoyed dinners and holidays with family and friends. He was a Mason at the America-St. John's Lodge #8 of Stratford, a member of the Pyramid Shriners #9 of Milford and a two time president of the Trumbull Italian Club. The organization that was most dear to him was A Gift of Life Heart and Lung Transplant Support Group of New York where he was a founding member and the first president, served on the Board of Directors and Treasurer for many years. He was predeceased by a daughter, Geraldine M. DeGenova and a sister, Agnes Jemapete.
In addition to his beloved wife of 57 years, Mame, survivors include his five loving daughters, Marlene Cox and her husband Donald, Marea Dolyak-Teare, Michele Reilly and her husband Michael all of Trumbull, Lynn Verrilli and her husband Mark of Monroe and Toni Costa and her husband Christopher of Trumbull, son-in-law, Richard DeGenova of Trumbull; 11 cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Ashleigh, Vincent, Hunter, Donald, Ian, Philip, Christian, Angela, Michael and Marcus as well as a nephew, Christopher Jemapete of CO. He also leaves to cherish his memory, brother-in-law, Edward Aldo, and a sister-in-law, Dr. Marlene Aldo-Benson.
Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
